As a result, Wiegman, Levitt and Slippen will appear on the Democratic, Independence and Working Families Party lines in the November election.
The trio also picked up the endorsements of the Croton Democratic Committee.
"I am proud to have nominated Mayor Leo Wiegman and Trustees Andy Levitt and Maria Slippen for the Working Families Party endorsement,” said Secretary of the Westchester-Putnam Working Families Party and Croton-on-Hudson resident Peter Feigenbaum in a statement. “After going door-to-door to talk with rank-and-file Working Families Party members, I am more convinced than ever that this is the slate to keep our community safe, green and affordable for working families.”
Wiegman, a 20-year Croton resident, is seeking his fourth term as mayor. He is a consultant in the field of energy use and sustainability as well as Executive Director of the non-profit Sustainable Westchester.
Levitt seeks his second term as trustee. A lawyer in New York City, Levitt has resided in Croton with his wife and two children for seven years.
Slippen also seeks her second term as a trustee. A Croton resident for more than a decade, Slippen is a media and communications consultant and is active with her husband and two daughters in school and local community groups.
“As a longtime supporter of the Working Families Party, I am grateful for their support today,” said Mayor Wiegman in a statement. “I am glad the Working Families Party recognizes that I will continue to stand with the middle class and welcome the support of the Independence Party as well.”
