CORTLANDT, N.Y. — Cortlandt residents could see a slate of new projects this year, including a public boat launch in Verplanck and construction on Furnace Dock Lake Dam as well as less visible drainage projects.

Cortlandt Waterfront Boat Launch: This $100,000 project should be completed in early 2013, as the Hudson River-based launch must be completed before the spring fish-spawning season. About half of the launch is being paid for out of the recreation fund, which is funded through fees from Planning Board applicants.

Verplanck Broadway Sidewalks: From 5th Street to the Hudson River, sidewalks will be built in the hamlet of Verplanck. The $779,500 project is funded by the federal Community Development Block Grants program and the New York State Department of Transportation.

Bleakley House Demolition: Located at 303 Craft Lane, Cortlandt Manor, this house will be demolished a cost of $100,000. The cost is being shared by the town and Metro-North Railroad. The house is being demolished because the Craft Lane Bridge was deemed unsafe, and according to town officiais, it, "would be too costly to repair the bridge just for one house."

Lake Meaghah Park: The Town of Cortlandt will likely finalize the design plans for this park project in 2013. The cost is estimated at $260,000. Half of the project is funded by federal Community Development Block Grants.

High Street Water Main Replacement: In the Village of Croton, an ongoing water main project will begin in the summer. The project was delayed because the village needed to obtain a street opening permit from New York State.

Farrington Road Projects: In Croton, this sidewalk, water and sewer project should begin this summer.
The Croton Yacht Club Feasibility Study was undertaken in October. Deputy Village Manager Janine King estimates the results of this study will be available in early 2013.
