District Seven includes Mamaroneck, Larchmont, Rye, Port Chester and parts of New Rochelle.
"A Candidates' Debate" will feature District 7 candidates Catherine Parker (D) and John Verni (R); candidates for mayor of the village of Mamaroneck Clark Neuringer (D) and Norman Rosenblum (R,C,I); candidates for Mamaroneck Village trustee Louis N. Santoro (R,C,I) and Kerry Stein (D); candidates for the Mamaroneck Town Board, all running uncontested Nancy Seligson, Town Supervisor (D), Jaine Elkind Eney (D) and Ernie Odierna (D).
The debate is being hosted by the LWV of Larchmont-Mamaroneck and the LWV of Rye, Rye Brook and Port Chester in the courtroom in the Mamaroneck Town Center.
"To help inform voters, the League of Women Voters will moderate a debate between the candidates, who will discuss their qualifications and answer questions," the league said in a statement.
Among the controversial issues in this election season, as touched on in previous League debates, are the future of Playland, water quality and safety in the Sound Shore, and affordable housing.
Questions will be posed by league members, however the public is invited to submit questions via email at LWV10538@aol.com
The event is also open to the public and will be broadcasted live on LMC-TV. It will be re-aired as the election approaches.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the debate will begin promptly at 7:30.
The Town Center is at 740 West Boston Post Road.
