CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- The Buchanan Village Board of Trustees will remain unchanged for the year to come after Tuesday's village election.
Voters chose to keep incumbent Democrats Theresa Knickerbocker and Duane Jackson on the board instead of electing former longtime Republican Mayor Al Donahue to serve.
The final election tally, according to Village Administrator Kevin Hay, was 263 votes for Knickerbocker, 248 for Jackson and 164 votes for Donahue.
Knickerbocker was elected to the board in 2009. Mayor Sean Murray appointed Jackson to the board in May 2012 after Trustee Jane Hitney stepped down.
A street vendor in Times Square, Jackson made headlines for foiling a terrorist car-bomb plot in 2010, after spotting a smoking SUV. He ran for U.S. Senate in 2011 but was defeated by Sean Patrick Maloney in the Democratic primary.
