Croton United Sweeps Village Elections

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- It was a clean sweep for Croton United in Tuesday's municipal elections.

Incumbent Leo Wiegman is being challenged by Greg Schmidt in the race for mayor of Croton-on-Hudson.

Greg Schmidt knocked off incumbent mayor Leo Wiegman 1,200 votes to 939 votes, 56 percent to 44 percent, according to unofficial results from the Westchester County Board of Elections.

 Croton United's Kenneth Walsh and Robert Andersen defeated incumbent trustees Maria Slippen and Andrew Levitt, both Democrats. Walsh had 1,200 votes and Anderson had 1,144. Slippen and Levitt trailed with 994 votes and 939, votes respectively.

On Tuesday night, the Board of Elections had the results as the Democrats sweeping the municipal elections.
