CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Croton trustees-elect were sworn in Monday evening, after the Westchester County Board of Elections delayed the election certification by one week.

"I'm looking forward to working with the rest of you," said new Trustee Kevin Davis, 23. About a dozen people gathered at the Stanley H. Kellerhouse Municipal Building to watch Davis and incumbent Ann Gallelli be sworn in before a board work session.

"Welcome to the board," said Gallelli said to Davis, after being sworn in herself.

Board members also received committee and liaison assignments, such as trustee liaison with the Croton Planning Board. Mayor Leo Wiegman joked to Davis that, "You won't have an evening weekend free with the long list and heavy load of liaison assignments, but I'm sure you're up to it."

Davis and Gallelli participated in Croton's first-ever autumn election. Traditionally, New York villages vote in March. However, Croton and a few other Westchester villages have aligned local ballots with national and state races in November.

Croton's first fall election coincided with a rare three-way Democratic primary, in which Davis and Gallelli pulled ahead of fellow Democrat Andy Levitt. During the general election, write-in candidate Virginia Calcutti received 727 votes.
