Buchanan Mayor Re-elected

Tuesday was Election Day for many villages in Westchester.

Races were uncontested in seven villages, listed at the end of this article.

There were contested elections in the villages of Bronxville, Buchanan, Larchmont, Pelham Manor, Scarsdale and Tuckahoe:

BRONXVILLE

Republican William Primps, with 504 votes, beat Democrat Natasha Nordahl, with 462 votes, in the race for a four-year term as Village Justice.  

Mark Wood and William Barton were both elected to the Village Board of Trustees unopposed.

BUCHANAN

Incumbent Mayor Theresa Knickerbocker, running as the Democratic and Resident's Party candidate, was re-elected to a two year term. She defeated Republican challenger Robert Lupica by 174 to 47 votes, according to unofficial returns. 

Incumbent Village Trustees Richard Funchon and Nicholas Zachary were re-elected unopposed, as was Village Justice Jennifer Daly.

PELHAM MANOR: 

In Pelham Manor, four candidates were running for two trustee seats: Bridget Bennett received 686 votes and Louis Annunziata received 673 votes to win seats. Amy Moore got 412 unofficial votes, while William Bassell garnered 381 votes.

SCARSDALE

Voters Choice candidate Robert Berg, with just 519 votes, lost in his bid to defeat any of the three candidates from the Scarsdale Citizen NonPartisan ticket.  

NonPartisan incumbent Jane Veron received 1,361 votes, with running mates Justin Ares and Lena Crandall getting 1,243 and 1,234, respectively.

TUCKAHOE

Four candidates finished within 27 votes of one another in the race for two seats on the Village of Tuckahoe Board of Trustees. 

Leading, according to unofficial returns were Democrat Omayra Andino with 572 votes and Republican Danny Lang with 571 votes. Democrat Sarah DeRise was in third with 568 votes.

Incumbent Antonio Leo received the least votes with 545 on the Republican and Conservative ballot lines. 

Re-elected, running unopposed was Village Justice David Fuller.

LARCHMONT

Results were not yet available in Larchmont. (Return for updates.) 

Three candidates ran for two unpaid seats on the Village of Larchmont Board of Trustees. Incumbent Democrats Carol Miller and Peter Fanelli were challenged by Preservation Party candidate Sarah Bauer for a two-year term.

Lorraine Walsh ran unopposed as Larchmont's mayor.

UNCONTESTED

The following candidates were elected in these six villages:

Briarcliff: Kevin Hunt and Cesare DeRose were unopposed in races for village trustee.

Elmsford: Incumbent Trustees Edward Rush and Raymond Cordi, both Democrats, were both re-elected.

Hastings-on-Hudson: Democratic village Trustees Nicola Armacost and Georgia Lopez were both re-elected.

Pelham: Democratic incumbents Adam Kagan and Pete Potocki were re-elected as village trustees, along with Democrat Hanan Kamal Eldahry.

Pleasantville: Incumbent Mayor Peter Scherer was re-elected on the Village Party line, as was incumbent Trustee Joseph Stargiotti. Also elected as a village trustee unopposed was David Vinjamuri.

Rye Brook: David Heiser and Susan Epstein were elected village trustees in uncontested races.

Sleepy Hollow: Incumbents Rachelle Gebler, Samuel Gonzalez and Sandra Spiro were all re-elected.
