Yorktown Police Charge Mohegan Lake Man With Driving With Suspended License

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have charged a 38-year-old resident of Mohegan Lake with driving with a suspended license, following an automobile accident on Old Yorktown Road.

Police received a call from a motorist reporting an auto accident with property damage on Sunday, May 15, at approximately 12:37 p.m., according to officials.

An investigation revealed that one of the drivers involved in the accident, Joseph A. Kearns, operated a 2008 Nissan with a suspended New York State driver’s license and an expired vehicle registration, police report.

Kearns was arrested at the scene and transported to Police Headquarters, according to officials.

He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and having an expired registration, a traffic violation, police report.

Following processing, Kearns was issued a traffic summons in reference to the charges, and released on $100 bail, according to officials.

He is scheduled to answer the charges in Yorktown Court on Thursday, June 16, police report.
