Yorktown Man Charged With Punching, Choking Woman, Police Say

The arrest stemmed from an allegation of domestic violence reported by a Putnam Valley woman at police headquarters on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 4 p.m., officials report.

An investigation revealed that the woman had allegedly been punched and choked by a male while at a residence on Van Cortlandt Circle earlier in the afternoon; the woman suffered minor injuries, according to police.

The suspect in the attack, identified as Jason P. Neale, 35, was arrested outside his residence at 5:23 p.m., police report.

Neale was charged with assault in the third degree and criminal obstruction of breathing or circulation, both class A misdemeanors, police report.

Following processing at police headquarters, Neale was arraigned, served with a temporary order of protection and remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $1,000 bail, according to officials.

He was scheduled to answer the charges against him in Yorktown Court on Tuesday, Feb. 9, police report.
