Woman Stopped For Speeding On Yorktown's Underhill Avenue Charged With DWI

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- An Ossining woman was charged with driving under the influence by Yorktown Police following a traffic stop on Friday, Sept. 16, said Yorktown Police.

Karen Gualtiere, 35, was arrested after officers stopped her at 2:45 a.m. on Underhill Avenue for speeding, not stopping at a stop light, and for failing to use her turning signal. During the stop officers found that she was intoxicated and arrested her at the scene, police said.

A blood alcohol test showed that she was driving at twice the legal limit at .18 percent, police added.

Gualtiere was charged with driving under the influence, aggravated DWI, failure to use turning signal, failure to obey traffic control device and speeding. 

She was released on $100 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
