Woman Attempts To Cash Forged Check At Wappinger Bank, Police Say

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - New York State Police in Dutchess County recently arrested a Manhattan teenager attempting to cash a forged check in Wappinger.

On Friday, April 21, state police from the Wappinger barracks arrested 19-year-old Denisse Gimenez for second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony.

According to police, an investigation determined that Gimenez attempted to cash a forged check the day she was arrested at a Wappinger bank. She was arraigned in the Town of LaGrange Court and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in court on Wednesday, April 26.
