Wappinger Man Nabbed After Lengthy Stolen-Property Investigation

A 42-year-old Wappinger man is behind bars after being arrested following a months-long stolen-property investigation.

State police received a complaint of possible credit card fraud and larceny in the town of Wappinger on July 28. After several months of investigation, it was determined that Bruce W. Adorno possessed and sold, a stolen generator and welder to a town of Poughkeepsie pawn shop, police said.

State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Adorno on Friday, Dec. 29 on two counts of criminal possession of stolen property.

Adorno was processed without incident and returned to the supervision of the Dutchess County Jail where he is currently being held on bail for unrelated charges.

Adorno’s next scheduled appearance before the town of Poughkeepsie Court is on Jan. 17,
