Verplanck Man Faces Felony DWI Charges

CORTLANDT, N.Y. – A Verplanck man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly driving while intoxicated on Route 9A, the New York State Police said.

Michael Lane, 55, of Verplanck was charged with three felonies after he was pulled over Wednesday by New York State Police on Route 9A.

Michael R. Lane, 55, was charged with DWI, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 and aggravated unlicensed operation, all felonies. Lane was arrested at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19.

The following items also were reported by the New York State Police:

DWI: Thomas J. Fonte, 42, of Cortlandt Manor was charged with fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle and DWI, both misdemeanors; and half a dozen traffic infractions. He was pulled over at 3:40 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, on Baron de Hirsch Road in Cortlandt.

DWI: Arthur T. Connolly, 39, of Buchanan was charged with felony DWI on Monday, Dec. 17. He was stopped on Welcher Avenue in Peekskill. The state police said he has a previous DWI conviction.

DWI: Joseph F. Ostuni, 51, of Peekskill was charged with DWI, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 and aggravated unlicensed operation, all misdemeanors; and three traffic infractions. He was stopped at 5:23 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, on Cabnal Road.

False Records: Amanda M. Lewandowski, 30, of Cortlandt Manor was charged with falsifying business records, a felony. She was arrested at 2990 E. Main St., Cortlandt, on Saturday, Dec. 15.

Assault: Stewart Fiore, 39, of Cortlandt Manor was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors, on Monday, Dec. 17.

Assault: Marco C. Dutan, 36, of Cortlandt was charged with assault and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors, on Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Drug Possession: Ismael Perez, 21, of Cortlandt was charged with petty larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors, at 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, on Crompond Road.

Petty Larceny: Paul Parente, 22, of Cortlandt Manor was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, at the Cortlandt Town Center on Saturday, Dec. 15.
