Cortlandt Manor Teen Faces Charges In Putnam Valley Traffic Stop

PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reported the recent arrests of two young women on misdemeanor charges resulting from a traffic stop.

Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Irwin stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Oscawana Lake Road in the Town of Putnam Valley on June 11 at 7:47 p.m.. The deputy detected the odor of marijuana and determined that the driver of the vehicle, identified as Allie M. Farwell, 22, of 353 Main St. in Nelsonville, had a suspended license. 

The deputy further determined that a passenger in the vehicle, identified as McKayla L. Gordineer, 19, of 1094 Oregon Rd. in Cortlandt Manor, was in possession of marijuana and a controlled substance. 

The deputy arrested Farwell and charged her with aggravated unlicensed operation of a Motor vehicle. The deputy arrested Gordineer and charged her with criminal possession of a controlled substance; and with unlawful possession of marijuana. 

Farwell was processed at the scene and released. Gordineer was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility where she was released after posting $100 cash bail. 

Both women were ordered to appear in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court to answer the charges at a future date.
