Two Teens Charged With Stealing From Sears

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Yorktown police arrested two 14-year-olds on charges of stealing from the Sears store in Yorktown.

The girls, one from Yorktown and one from Cortlandt Manor, were arrested after police responded to the store, where the two had been stopped by store security on suspicion of shoplifting more than $160 worth of merchandise.

Both girls were processed at the scene and released to their parents. They are scheduled to appear in Westchester Family Court on Thursday, June 30. 

In other police news, Yorktown police also charged a 30-year-old Peekskill woman with shoplifting at the Mohegan Lake CVS store after being identified as one of two suspects. 

According to police, Jennifer Rice, is accused of taking $360 worth of cosmetics along with another person. Rice, who was in the Westchester County jail on another charge, was charged with petty larceny and returned to jail.
