PUTNAM VALLEY, N.Y. -- The rush-hour closure of the northbound lanes of the Taconic State Parkway on Tuesday evening was caused by two separate motor vehicle accidents, state police said.

A motorcyclist was rear-ended by the driver of a pickup truck about 4:15 p.m., prompting an hour-long closure of the parkway between Peekskill Hollow Road and Pudding Street, as reported by Daily Voice.

Both vehicles were traveling northbound when the motorcycle was struck, state police said. There were no serious injuries, according to Trooper Melissa McMorris, a state police spokeswoman , who said no one was taken to the hospital. No serious injuries.

The Pudding Street crash was believed to have been triggered, McMorris said, by an earlier four-car accident at Peekskill Hollow Road.

A vehicle stopped short to turn off the Taconic State Parkway at Peekskill Hollow Road, McMorris said. Only minor injuries were reported in that "chain reaction bumper-to-bumper" accident, she said. One person was transported to a area hospital for evaluation.
