Troopers received a call for a stolen vehicle on Carrington Court in LaGrange on Aug. 15, prompting the investigation.
The investigation found the stolen vehicle, a 2015 Toyota Camry, which had already been stopped and impounded for traffic violations in Poughkeepsie. The suspect in the incident, 24-year-old Poughkeepsie resident Michael Tarzia had been arrested and released on his own recognizance. Days later, he would be located and arrested on a charge of criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.
His accomplice, 28-year-old Poughkeepsie resident Benjamin Prinzivalli was subsequently arrested as well, and turned over to state police for his role after being busted by the City of Poughkeepsie Police on an unrelated drug charge.
Both Prinzivalli and Tarzia were charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Each was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of cash bail or bond and are due in the Town of Pleasant Valley Justice Court on Sept. 25 to answer the charges.
