Two Charged With Stealing At Jefferson Valley Mall

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 19-year-old Mohegan Lake woman is facing charges of endangering the welfare of a child in connection with a shoplifting case, according to Yorktown police.

Yorktown Police charged a Mohegan Lake woman with petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child after she and a 15-year-old were accused of trying to steal hundreds of dollars worth of clothing from Sears in Jefferson Valley.

Nicolette Casatelli was arrested at Sears at the Jefferson Valley Mall around 9:40 p.m. Saturday, police said.

She and an unidentified 15-year-old were accused by store personnel of trying to steal about $800 worth of clothing, police said.

Casatelli also was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, police said.

The younger teen was charged with juvenile delinquency and released into the custody of a parent, police said. 

Casatelli was taken to police headquarters and later released in her own recognizance, police said. She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court next month.
