"Basically it's an ongoing investigation, we’re still performing interviews," said Sgt. Michael Guida of the Buchanan Police Department. Guida said interviews included both witnesses and suspects, and that he couldn't comment on how many interviews there were or how far along police were with the interviews.

Walking to his Buchanan home from Fulgum's bar, at about 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 28, a man encountered what is believed to be a group of four or five white, male teenagers between 15 and 18 years old. Individual descriptions of group members have been unavailable, although one member of the group was described as significantly taller than the rest, about 6-foot-2 inches tall or taller.

Police said the victim first encountered the group in the area of Trolley Road and Adell Court in Montrose. According to earlier interviews with police, "there was some words exchanged." The group and the victim then parted ways, and are believed to have met up again at Burke Court and Tate Avenue, where the man was struck down and beaten. The suspects then fled the area.

The man was left with several facial fractures and was hospitalized for five days following the incident. In an earlier interview with The Cortlandt Daily Voice, Chief Brian Tubbs of the Buchanan Police said the crime could be described as Buchanan's worst of the year.

Guida also said he couldn't comment whether or not the case has had new developments.
