New York State Police troopers from Cortlandt received a call for a welfare check of an intoxicated man on Sprout Brook Road earlier this week.
Upon arrival, police reported that a domestic dispute had taken place at a local residence, prompting an investigation. Police said that the dispute began when 56-year-old Cortlandt resident Timothy Green attempted to go to work, and his victim advised him not to do so while intoxicated.
Green’s victim proceeded to call 911 when he got into a car to leave for work, which is when the dispute became physical and Green actively attempted to prevent his victim from calling for emergency assistance.
Troopers arrested Green at the scene, and he was arraigned on charges of criminal mischief for interfering with a call for emergency assistance and menacing, both misdemeanors. He was also cited for harassment, a violation.
Following arraignment, Green was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $2,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court on Oct. 16 to answer the charges.
