A 23-year-old woman wanted by state police after allegedly assaulting a hearing impaired 10-year-old child with a shopping cart at Walmart in Cortlandt Manor a week ago has been arrested.

New York State Police are seeking the community’s assistance as they seek a woman that assaulted a hearing impaired 10-year-old child with a shopping cart at Walmart in Cortlandt Manor.

Erica A. Walker of Queens has been charged with attempted assault in the second degree, a Class D felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor, state police announced Saturday.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, Walker intentionally rammed the child with the cart at the Walmart located at 3131 East Main Street, according to state police.

Walker was arraigned before Town Justice Gerald Klein in the Town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or bond. She is scheduled to return to the Town of Cortlandt Court on Monday, March 6.

Photos released by state police showing surveillance image of the alleged assault were published by Daily Voice earlier this week.
