Police Charge Teen With Stealing Shirts At Jefferson Valley Mall

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 17-year-old resident of Baldwin Place on a larceny charge, following an incident at Sears.

An officer was assigned to investigate a larceny complaint at the Sears store located at 600 Lee Blvd. on Friday, April 22, at approximately 12:19 p.m., police report.

An investigation was conducted at the scene, according to officials.

The suspect, whose name is being withheld due to eligibility for youthful offender status, allegedly concealed two shirts having a total value of $80 in a plastic bag and exited the store without paying for them, police report.

The youth was arrested and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing; he was charged with petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor, according to officials.

After processing, the teen was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance to a family member, police report.

He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, May 24, according to officials.
