The arrest came about when officers responded to a report of a suspicious incident on Crompond Road on Monday around midnight, according to officials.
The suspect, identified as Anthony John Winters, was allegedly in possession of a small quantity of alprazolam, as well as a marijuana, police report.
Winters was taken into custody and transported to the Yorktown Police Department, according to officials.
He has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police report.
Following processing on the charges, the defendant was issued an appearance ticket and released on $100 bail, according to officials.
He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, Oct. 13, police report.
