Peekskill Man Arrested For DWI Under Leandra's Law

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- State Police arrested a Peekskill man for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony under Leandra's Law on Sunday, Nov. 3, police officials said.

Manuel A. Arpi Barbecho, 36, was found to be intoxicated subsequent to a welfare check that was conducted on the vehicle he was operating after troopers observed the vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the Sprain Brook parkway. The suspect submitted to a breath sample that which yielded a Blood Alcohol Content of .12 percent, according to State Police.

Arpi Barbecho will be charged with the felony under Leandra's Law for having two children with him in the vehicle, State Police said.

Arpi Barbecho is due to appear in court on Friday, Nov. 15.
