While preparing to go, the department got a report from Croton police that there was a house fire at that location.

Crews from the Buchanan and Ossining fire departments, and the Croton EMS and Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps were called in to assist at the scene.

First responders found that smoke from a minor fire outside had triggered an alarm inside the house.

The home was checked for any “fire extension” and pumped free of smoke, fire officials said.

The crews were cleared from the scene within 30 minutes.
