The police are participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics at about 2:30 p.m.
Each year, law enforcement professionals, including police and correction officers from around the country, escort the Special Olympics Torch as Guardians of the Flame.
The torch will travel north on Route 9, causing minor delays. Officers will receive the torch on South Highland Avenue near Charter Circle and carry it north to Croton Point Avenue where the torch will be passed to the Croton Police Department.
Residents should use Route 9A to avoid any potential delays, police said.
