Motorist Flees Scene After Hitting Woman In Jefferson Valley, Police Say

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A Jefferson Valley man was arrested and charged Monday afternoon after Yorktown police say he hit a pedestrian at 3651 Lee Blvd. and then intentionally left the scene.

Mohammad Almuher, 39, was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Auto Accident, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Police said the victim sustained a physical injury and that Almuher intentionally fled following the accident. Police were able to locate Almuher, where he was brought back to headquarters for processing.

He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on June 22.
