MONTROSE, N.Y. – A 13-year-old Montrose boy has been charged with juvenile delinquency for allegedly committing a criminal sexual act, according to the Yorktown Police Department.
If the teen were legally considered an adult, he would be facing a felony charge of a criminal sexual act in the first-degree, police said.
Several Yorktown police officers were assigned to investigate the case on Sunday, and the information they gathered indicated that the teen had committed an illegal sexual act, court records show.
The police report does not offer any additional information about the crime, including the gender or age of the alleged victim.
The teen surrendered himself to authorities, in the presence of his parents, according to police.
He was processed and released, pending a scheduled appointment with the Westchester County Department of Probation, police said.
