New York State Parks Police located the Amityville man after his parents reported him missing, according to Randy Simmons, the public information officer for the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
State Park Police, State Park Forest Rangers and Westchester County Sheriff’s Office began a search, Simmons said.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin, Simmons said.
State Parks Police and Westchester County Medical Examiners Office are investigating the incident, Simmons said.
