New York State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Christopher J. Kovi, 50, of Bronxville, on Saturday on a charge of driving while intoxicated, a class E felony.

Troopers observed a vehicle stopped on Route 9 near Route 301 and stopped to conduct a welfare check on the driver. The driver of the vehicle, Kovi, was found to be intoxicated, police said.

Kovi was charged with felony DWI when an investigation revealed that he was convicted of DWI in 2009, police said.

Kovi was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear before Philipstown Town Court on Monday, Dec. 7.
