Man Charged In Theft Of Yorktown Resident's ID

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Hyde Park man has been charged by Yorktown Police with identity theft after stealing and using a debit card from a Yorktown resident.

According to police, a resident called to report their debit card had been stolen from their car on June 3, and then used to purchase jewelry at Macy's in Danbury, Conn. 

Detective Brian Shanahan conducted the investigation that led to the arrest of Rajeam Jackson, 23, of no known address in Hyde Park, who was already being held at the Dutchess County Jail on unrelated charges. Jackson was transported to the Yorktown Police Department on an arrest warrant and charged with identity theft. 

Jackson was returned to the Dutchess County Jail until a court hearing scheduled for Aug. 9.
