Man Arraigned In Dutchess On Child Predator Charges

PAWLING, N.Y. -- A Putnam Lake man is facing charges of predatory sexual assault against a child and rape after being arrested Saturday in incidents that took place in Pawling.

New York State Police at Dover Plains arrested Abner D. Alonzo-Santos, 30, of Putnam Lake, on Saturday, on the charges of predatory sexual assault against a child, a class A-II felony as well as two counts of third-degree rape, a class E felony.

The charges stem from incidents occurring in Pawling, where it is alleged that Alonzo-Santos had sexual contact with a female child on multiple occasions over the course of years beginning when the child was 10 years old.

Alonzo-Santos was arraigned in Beekman Town Court by Judge John Garito and was committed to the Dutchess County Jail with no bail. He is scheduled to return to Pawling Town Court on Thursday, Dec. 10.
