Mahopac Falls Car Crash Injures One, Shuts Route 6N For Hour

CARMEL, N.Y. – One person was injured and another shaken up in a two-car accident in the Mahopac Falls section of Carmel on Thursday, according to local fire officials.

The crash occurred on Route 6N near Myrtle Avenue (Route 71) around 1:44 in the afternoon.

The injured person was taken to Danbury Hospital by EMStar crews, according to Jack Casey, information officer for the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. 

Traffic was diverted for about an hour while the accident scene was cleared.

Responding to the crash were members of the Mahopac Falls fire and emergency medical services and Carmel police.

As of Friday, no tickets had been issued. The accident remains under investigation.
