FISHKILL, N.Y. -- A stretch of westbound I-84 in Dutchess reopened late Tuesday afternoon following an early morning rollover collision involving a tractor-trailer that resulted in the closure of both lanes for about six hours.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., state police responded to the collision that occurred between Exit 11 (Route 9D) and Exit 12 (Route 52).

A preliminary investigation indicates that the tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on the interstate when it exited the north shoulder of the roadway and overturned. The driver of the truck was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with minor injuries and released.

Subsequent to the vehicle overturning, diesel fuel spilled at the crash site. NYS DEC Spill Response was notified and responded to the scene.

I-84 westbound, just east of the Red School House Road overpass, was closed as crews up-right the vehicle. Crews remained on scene to clean up cases of bottled water that spilled from the cargo area.
