Police said the officers were on their way to answer a possible heroin overdose 911 call just after noon Monday when they heard the dispatcher giving family members CPR instructions.
When they arrived at the home, police said Stanis gave the man two doses of Narcan, a drug that reverses the effects of heroin and other opiod drugs.
The man was breathing again and semi-conscious by the time emergency medical technicians and paramedics arrived, police said. He was taken to a hospital in Poughkeepsie, police said.
