Scott Yandrasevich, 49, of Danbury, was charged with one count of second-degree grand larceny. Yandrasevich is accused of stealing $271,120 from the Golf Club over a four-and-a-half year period from January 2008 to August 2012.
Yandrasevich is accused of setting up a fake staffing company, RM Staffing, and submitting false invoices to the Golf Club and the city of Rye. According to the district attorney, Yandrasevich submitted invoices on behalf of fictitious employees who were described as working at the club in "administration," "restaurant" and "operations." After RM Staffing received the money, Yandrasevich transferred it to his personal accounts, according to the district attorney.
After the city became aware of the financial irregularities, outside counsel was hired and an investigation was launched, which was later handed over to the District Attorney's Office. Yandrasevich was placed on leave last October, and resigned in January. The city has hired interim general managers in the meantime, and is in the process of seeking candidates to permanently fill the position.
Bail was set at $20,000 bond or $10,000 cash. Yandrasevich is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 17. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in state prison.
