Fight At Crown Fried Chicken Leads To Arrest

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- A man who was found sleeping in a booth at Crown Fried Chicken in Peekskill allegedly threw a person trying to help him out into a window and attempted to fight the owner of the restaurant and police.

Police arrived and said they found the owner of the establishment holding Joseaphus Lovett down on the ground.

Lovett was allegedly in an agitated state and threatening to “fight everyone," the police report said. The owner of the business reported to police that he was getting ready to close for the evening and he and another subject attempted to wake up Lovett, who was sleeping in the corner of the business.

The owner told police that Lovett became enraged and shoved the person helping him into the front window of the store breaking it. Lovett then allegedly attempted to fight the owner. When officers arrived on the scene he reportedly attempted to fight with them but was restrained and taken into custody.

He was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Lovett is due back in court on Nov. 12.
