Erin Meagher, 26, was arrested Tuesday and charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a Class E felony, for allegedly using chamber funds for her own personal use. Meagher also serves as a Village Trustee in Brewster.

No dollar amount for the larceny was released by authorities. Fourth-degree grand larceny is defined as stealing more than $1,000 in money or property.

The chamber claims Meagher, a Brewster resident, used her chamber debit card as her own personal slush fund to purchase jewelry, dresses, Kate Spade handbags and Ivanka Trump shoes. The chamber terminated her employment Tuesday.

"She even flaunted her ill-gotten apparel at chamber and community events," Joseph Tock, chamber counsel said in a statement. "She fabricated false and fraudulent invoices from Amazon in an attempt to deceive the Board of Directors. It is disheartening that she has stolen from the more than 390 Chamber members and has shattered the trust of our community."

Meagher faces up to four years in jail and a $5,000 fine if convicted. She is due back in Carmel Justice Court on April 11.
