Westchester County Police say Dean Picariello, 22, was taken to Westchester County Jail on Wednesday after failing to appear for a court date earlier this week. Picariello was originally charged Dec. 14 with rape and distribution of indecent material, both felonies, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. At the time, Picariello was residing in a mobile home park in Croton Point Park.

In Cortlandt, Picariello is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl and then sending her an indecent text message. In addition, Picariello has an outstanding warrant issued by New York State Police in Orange County where he is charged with felony rape involving a minor, among other charges, according to Westchester County Police.

Police said Picariello was found hiding in the basement of an acquaintance's Sunset Avenue home in Montrose, and was taken into custody just after 3 p.m. by the Westchester County Police Warrant-Fugitive Unit.

Westchester County Police say an investigation into Picariello's contact with minors is ongoing. He was known to work as a DJ in the area under the name Dino Mack, police said. Anyone with information should call detectives in the General Investigations Unit at (877) 220-3560. All calls are confidential.
