Croton Couple Arrested On Felony Drug Charges

BEDFORD, N.Y. – Two Croton residents face felony drug charges after being stopped on Route 35 in Bedford, according to state police.

Eric Scuccimarra, 36, and Lisa Barnett, 40, were stopped during a fixed DWI checkpoint at Route 35 and Cherry Street on April 6.

Scuccimarra was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class C felony; second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class D felony; driving while ability impaired by drugs; and several counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Barnett was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony.

The seized drugs consisted of more than a pound of marijuana, a small quantity of hashish and numerous foreign substances as well as drug paraphernalia, police said. Additional charges are pending, police said.

Both defendants were transported to the Somers New York State Police Barracks for processing and were arraigned in Bedford Town Court. Scuccimarra was remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $15,000 bond/ $7,500 cash, and Barnett on $10,000 bond/ $2,500 cash. Both are scheduled to reappear in Bedford Town Court on April 11.
