CORTLANDT, N.Y. – New York State Police in Cortlandt said 53 violations were issued Tuesday on Route 9 in the town of Cortlandt.

Violations included speeding, unlicensed operation and violations of child restraint laws.

State Police said in a press release that, "These details will continue in an effort to ensure the roadways are safe for the motoring public."

VERPLANCK, N.Y. - Ronald D. Bleakey of Verplanck died June 16. He was 67.

Bleakey was born June 15, 1946, to John and Catherine McCrory Bleakley. He served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969. He retired as a general foreman for the Sanitation Dept. at the Town of Cortlandt. He was a life member at the Elks Lodge in Peekskill.
