Cortlandt Man Charged With Domestic Assault

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. -- A 27-year-old Cortlandt Manor man has been charged in connection to a domestic assault incident after allegedly striking his girlfriend with a floor lamp, according to New York State Police.

Marcelino Crespo was arrested Tuesday in connection with a reported domestic incident in Cortlandt at around 3 a.m. Sunday, according to a release from New York State Police. Crespo's girlfriend was taken to Hudson Valley Hospital Center Sunday and received stitches on her forehead "after the defendant allegedly struck her with a floor lamp," according to the release. 

Crespo reportedly fled the scene before police arrived and was later located in the Bronx and transported to Cortlandt. Crespo was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail, according to the release.
