YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- An aide at a facility for disabled people in Yorktown has been charged with slapping an autistic resident there, police said.

Yvonne B. Ingram, 53, of the Bronx, was arrested Friday, May 13, in connection with an incident at the Richmond Children’s Center in Mohegan Lake the day before, police said.

She was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, police said.

Staff at the center told police Ingram slapped and pushed a client with autism.

A temporary order of protection was issued against Ingram, police said.

She was released on her own recognizance and ordered to appear Tuesday in Yorktown Justice Court, police said.
