CORTLANDT, N.Y. - New York State Police reported issuing 104 traffic tickets in an enforcement effort on Routes 6 and 9 in the Town of Cortlandt on July 5. Police said some of the speeding tickets were for violations as much as 40 miles over the posted speed limit.
Other violations included switched plates, failure to move over for emergency vehicles, and seatbelt violations. Police said the enforcement was an " effort to make the roadways safe for the motoring public and will continue throughout the summer months."
