Yvonne Joan Pohlmann, 81, Longtime Croton-on-Hudson Resident

MONROE TWP., N.J. - Yvonne Joan Pohlmann of Monroe Twp., and longtime resident of Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y., died April 12. She was 81.

Pohlmann was born July 20, 1931, in Ossining to John and Katherine (Quill) Merritt. After graduation from Ossining High School she was employed as a secretary at The New York Central Railroad and subsequently as a special education teaching assistant at CHHS until her retirement. A Member of the Croton Blood Bank at its inception, a communicant of Holy Name of Mary Church and also its first female eucharistic minister and president of the Altar & Rosary Society for many terms.

Pohlmann is survived by her husband, William J. Pohlmann; children, Michelle Delaney of Monroe Twp.;  John Merritt Pohlmann of Parker, Colo.; three grandchildren; and sister, Sondra Radosh.

Calling hours are Monday, April 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, 59 Benedict Ave., Croton-on-Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 16 also at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd. Cremation Services will be private.
