Theresa Latimer, 82, Formerly Of Croton

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Theresa F. Larkin Latimer, formerly of Croton-on-Hudson, died Thursday, Dec. 6. She was 82.

Born Jan. 21, 1930, in New York City, Latimer was the daughter of John and Ann Larkin. She attended Sacred Heart High School in Bronx, N.Y., and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1948.

She started working at the age of 14 to help support her family. She worked at Arnold Constable, Young and Rubicam and retired after 24 years from the Hendry Corporation as an executive secretary.

On June 29, 1957, she married Arthur Latimer at Sacred Heart Rectory. They built their dream home in Croton-on-Hudson, where they raised three children. She was most recently a resident of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.

A member of Croton-on-Hudson Senior Citizens and East Fishkill Senior Citizens, she loved to watch old movies and discuss the actors and actresses she enjoyed most.

Latimer is survived by three children, Theresa (Alfred) Sheehan, of Hopewell Junction, Luke, of Croton, and Lisa (Matthew) Michaels, of Findlay, Ohio; a sister, Shelia Larkin; seven grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; and her special friend, Joseph Duffy. She was predeceased by her husband; and a sister, Helen McCarthy.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home in Croton-on-Hudson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
