Cuevas was employed by the Hendrick Hudson School District for many years and locally was a member of the Verplanck Ladies Auxiliary for almost 50 years, as well as a member of the Hudson Valley Ladies Auxiliary Fire Department.
Cuevas is survived by her husband of 48 years, Cleofe Cuevas; daughter, Judy Gaudinier; son, Cleofe Cuevas Jr. and his wife Janet; daughter, Heather Schlurensauer and her husband Scott; siblings, Marion Perez, Dorothy Sebock, Patsy Mascalino and Beverly McCloskey; and grandchildren, Stephanie, Amanda, Justin, Miguel, Nicholas, Owen, April and Caylee.
Cuevas was predeceased by her brother, Richard Mascalino; and parents, Patsy and Margaret (Banker) Mascalino.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the E.F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's R.C. Church, 240 11th St., Verplanck.
Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Verplanck.
