She was born on Aug. 15, 1945, in Peekskill, to John and Katherine (Outhouse) Murphy.
She is survived by her husband, John E. Horton; sons, Scott Horton and Darrell Horton and his wife, Meagen; brother, John Murphy and his wife, Ruby, and grandchildren, Colin, Erin, Juliet and Caroline Horton.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 11, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 170 Kings Ferry Road, in Montrose.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, also at the funeral home.
Cremation services will be private.
