Ise Bluestein Vanderpot, 74, Former Croton Resident

ELLENVILLE, N.Y. - Ilse Bluestein Vanderpot of Ellenville, formerly of Croton and Peekskill, died Sunday, Nov. 2. She was 74.

Vanderpot was born Sept. 20, 1940, in Middlesex Hospital in New Jersey, to Abe and Selma. Her family moved to Croton in 1944, and it was to be her home for much of her life. After graduating from Croton-Harmon High School, she got her Bachelor's degree in Special Education at Buffalo State Teachers College. She worked at the Hawthorne Children's Home before marriage. Over the years she moved to Peekskill, Middletown and most recently, Ellenville.

She worked for many years for the Hudson Valley Developmental Disabilities Service office.

Vanderpot is survived by her children, John, Greta, Lesley, Martha, Gerald, and Lynne; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson; former husband, Leo; and brother, David. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers Michael and Danny.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson. Funeral Services will be held from 2:30 to 3 p.m. during the visiting.
