CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. - Gladys M. Short, a longtime resident of Cortlandt Manor, died Nov. 2. She was 91.
Short was born July 26, 1923, in the Bronx, to Joseph Smyth and Lillian (nee McGuigan) Smyth. She graduated from Isaac Young High School in New Rochelle, class of 1942.
Short is survived by her children, James Short, Robert Short, Terence (Valerie) Short, Elizabeth (Robert) Elsasser and Virginia (James) Vinci; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, James F. Short; and daughter, Carol Short.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Nov. 5. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. at the Assumption Church, Peekskill, followed by interment at Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
